It should be taken care that this Megace mg or Megestrol drug should not be given to a patient who is pregnant, as it can cause harm to the baby to be born. The diabetic patients should inform the doctor for any adjustment in Megace dosage.

Obesity has direct link to duration and frequencies of hospital stay – says sociologists
Sociologists from Purdue University, West Lafayette, Ind., have found a direct relationship between obesity and duration of hospital stays. The reason being that obese person are more prone to high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease, stroke and other illness which complicates care or surgery and it is also harder to use traditional clinical health assessments and measurements.
In the study, the sociologists studied the relationship between obesity and hospitalizations by using 20 years of hospital records of 4,574 people of 25 to 77 years of age who experienced a total of 12,380 hospitalizations. It was found that the obese people on an average stay at least one to one and a half days longer than a normal weight individual due to diseases associated with obesity. It was also found that 46 percent of obese people had high blood pressure problems. As obesity is considered a disease, it was seen that more is the obesity length i.e longer a person lives with a disease, more was the hospital stay duration. The people who were obese in their childhood and continue to be obese were found to suffer most and stay longer in hospital.
The surprise finding with long term obesity was that the length of stay was related to the length of the last stay and hospitalization was not enough to slow down the problems as the problems continued from one hospitalization to the next as reflected by a continuation of longer stays.
